Both Red Tortue and Mighty Whitey are amongst those who are likely to force the pace and ensure that this is a fiercely competitive early battle for position, but a hold up horse should prosper late on in the race if able to negotiate a clear passage through weakening rivals. Hartside is versatile in terms of tactics and might well relish the long Cartmel run-in, but the progressive horse in the line up is the recent Perth winner THE COMPELLER, for whom a 6lb rise in the weights mightn't be enough to thwart the forward momentum.
