Verdict

A race to truly savour, this contest promises to be every bit as strong as the Champion Bumper in March, and features a group of hugely exciting young horses who have already amassed 13 successes between them (point-to-points and bumpers). Posh Trish doesn't duck the challenge of taking on the boys, and she appears a live contender in receipt of weight (3lb) from the others. Summing up such a deep contest succinctly is tricky, so in opting to merely list some of the most obvious contenders, we almost certainly fail to do them justice. It would be no surprise whatsoever should either Bullionaire, Gallahers Cross or Herecomestheboom prevail, but the horse who made the biggest impression of all on debut; albeit in a much weaker race was DIDTHEYLEAVEUOUTTO. Whilst this race is on turf, and a far cry from a Class 6 bumper at Lingfield (AW), the clock seldom lies, and the JP McManus owned four-year-old posted some good figures in a visually scintillating success, so rates as the selection in what for many is the race of the day on an otherwise fine Ascot card.
  1. Didtheyleaveuoutto
  2. Posh Trish
  3. Herecomestheboom
