Chasemore Farm Fortune Stakes (Listed)
Class 1 | 1m | Good (good to firm in places) | 7 Runners | Turf
Off time: 15:55 | Winning time: 1m 42.87s
Rounded off 2019 with 2 handicap wins but hasn't looked up to listed/pattern company this term.
Group placed in France for Andre Fabre and fine start for new yard, proving a class apart when taking big-field Meydan handicap (1m) in February. Good second in Group 3 at York last month. Big player.
Upwardly mobile and likeable sort who made it 3 wins from last 4 starts in strong York handicap (1m) last month. Already up to the required standard now tackling a listed race.
Got right back on the up to land Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot on return and improved again when following up in Bunbury Cup at Newmarket. Didn't run his race next time but type to bounce back.
Dual Group 3 winner who reappeared with a good third in the Diomed at Newbury. Not disgraced both starts since and return to 1m will suit.
Made up into a smart filly in 2019. Not far off her best when 5 lengths sixth in Nassau at Goodwood and shade unlucky not to win Atalanta Stakes again over C&D next time. Not taken lightly.
Ran as well as she's ever done when ¾-length second in listed race at Haydock (1m, good to firm) and backed that up when 1½ lengths fifth to Maamora in Atalanta Stakes at this C&D. More needed here.
Montatham (13/8), Epic Hero (3/1), Zaaki (9/2), Lavender's Blue (15/2), Motakhayyel (11/1), Posted (16/1), Bless Him (25/1)
MONTATHAM continues to go from strength to strength, beating a subsequent Group 3 winner when taking a strong handicap at York last time, and is already at the required standard to win at this level. Motakhayyel clearly wasn't right at Salisbury and rates a big threat if back to the form that saw him land the Buckingham Palace/Bunbury Cup, with Epic Hero another to consider back down in class.
