Support The Marie Curie Hospice Glasgow Maiden Stakes

Class 5  |   1m 1f 35y  |   7 Runners  |   Turf

Off time: -  |   Winning time: -

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-13  |  J: P Mulrennan |  T: Mrs Dianne Sayer

Failed to feature on debut for Sir Michael Stoute over the winter and neither on his yard debut when 30L sixth at Ayr (1m2f) last month. Likely to be up against more progressive rivals.

Age: 5|  Weight: 9-8  |  J: Jamie Gormley |  T: I Jardine

Very much well-beaten in two starts in a bumper and over hurdles, and didn't fare much better on first start on the level when distant fourth at Ayr (1m2f) last time. Makes limited appeal.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: D Nolan |  T: D O'Meara|  OR: 75

Solid second on re-appearance at Beverley in June and while not going on since as hoped, shaped with some credit when 5L third at Pontefract (1m4f) last month. This trip should suit better. Shortlisted.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: Rowan Scott |  T: Adrian Nicholls

Homebred. Second foal. Dam was unplaced up to 1m4f on the track, half-sister to 7f winner Oor Jock out of a 1m1f Grade 2 US winner. Pedigree isn't of much note and probably best watched on debut.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: Nathan Evans |  T: M W Easterby

Large odds on both starts to date and likely to be flattered by third-place finish when beaten over 21L at Leicester (1m2f) last month. Needs more to be competitive.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: D Allan |  T: T D Easterby|  OR: 78

Five-race maiden but placed on each start this term, including 1L third in 1m Redcar handicap in July. Back into maiden company and trip should pose no issue. Contender.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0  |  J: B A Curtis |  T: W J Haggas|  OR: 75

Very well-related filly by Dubawi. Looked to be crying out for another step up in trip when shaping with promise with 2L fourth at Windsor (1m) last month. Every chance she will improve. Leading contender.

Reemannie (13/8), War Defender (2/1), Al Khabeer (5/2), Clan Jock (14/1), Taramanda (33/1), Sneak The Peek (33/1), Detective (50/1)

It's hard not to catch the attention of REEMANNIE in this maiden contest. Given her stout pedigree - she is a full-sister to 1m4f Grade 1 Canadian International winner Sheikhzayedroad - the step up in trip should bring out more in her and could prove to be a classy act in the field. War Defender is proving to be a model of consistency and while he ventures into the unknown trip-wise, sets a good form standard. Al Khabeer has also done little wrong, but he is likely to be want the ground to be on the faster side if he is to be seen to best effect given his previous form book races.
