Class 5  |   5f 7y  |   8 Runners  |   Turf

Off time: -  |   Winning time: -

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-11  |  J: Rowan Scott |  T: Adrian Nicholls|  OR: 71|  C

Course regular with sole victory coming over 6f here. Not as good recently however and was only ninth in 6f handicap at this venue last time. Has a bit to prove now.

Age: 7|  Weight: 9-10  |  J: J Fanning |  T: Jennie Candlish|  OR: 70|  D

Doesn't win that often and looks to be a soft ground horse. Best effort of the season so far when 7L third at Haydock (5f) last month, but even that might need more improvement.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-9  |  J: Kevin Stott |  T: K A Ryan|  OR: 72|  D

Typically runs well. Improved with each start to date this term and finally off the mark with easy Catterick maiden victory (5f) last month. Handicap mark is very appealing. The one to beat.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-8  |  J: Jason Hart |  T: Liam Bailey|  OR: 68|  CD

Already twice a winner this season, including over C&D in June. Not as good twice off current mark since and may just be in the grip of the handicapper.

Age: 8|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: P Mulrennan |  T: Miss L C Siddall|  OR: 65|  D

In fine form since the resumption of racing, winning at Wolverhampton (6f) before two runner-up finishes over C&D. Only up 1lb so handicapped to go well once more.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-4  |  J: T Eaves |  T: Miss Lucinda V Russell|  OR: 67

Maiden status now stands at 10 runs but in best effort to date when neck second in C&D novice six days ago. Handicap mark looks appealing so is on the shortlist.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0  |  J: Jamie Gormley |  T: I Jardine|  OR: 63|  D

Dual nursery winner last term but not really showing much this term. Latest seventh in 5f Ayr handicap last month looks like she needs a bit more.

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-10  |  J: Harrison Shaw |  T: Stef Keniry|  OR: 59|  CD

Has struggled in higher handicaps recently, including when last of 12 at Ayr (6f) last month. Radically down in mark and class but her best form leaves her wanting.

Stars In The Night (5/2), Astrophysics (4/1), Quanah (9/2), Ballyare (5/1), Show Palace (6/1), Twentysixthstreet (10/1), Lara Silvia (12/1), Rose Bandit (33/1)

A few of these bring some promising form into the race, none more so than the selection STARS IN THE NIGHT. She has proven to be a model of consistency in her career to date and was duly rewarded when getting her head in front off a 1lb higher mark. Now she has that winning confidence, it would be no shock if she was to go on a roll. Astrophysics has also been in good form and was narrowly denied by a short head over C&D last time, the 1lb rise should pose no issue, and Ballayre was another narrow C&D albeit in novice company last time. If he can re-find his best C&D winning form, Quanah should not be too far away either.
