Had the more fancied A Plus Tard and Duc Des Genievres behind in a faultless round of jumping to land the Grade 2 Fortria chase last month and can give give another good account of himself here.
Winner of the Grade 1 novice hurdle at Punchestown last season with Melon 1L behind, the gelding won as he liked on return to action in the Grade 3 Poplar Square chase at Naas on soft/heavy ground over 2m last month. Strong race for trainer.
Worrying times for the Grade 1 winning novice chaser as his jumping lets him down more often than not. Sent off the 4/7f for this contest last year the gelding only got as far as the second. Hard to place any faith in his fencing.
