Yet to win in nine starts and in truth, only progressing slowly over fences; finished a well-beaten second at Worcester last time when made favourite, weakening out of it late, and although still relatively early days, you'd like to see a bit more.
Landed a gamble (over hurdles) around this time last year, and probably did as well as could have been expected against a much higher-rated rival at Uttoxeter last time when second. Chance if this drop back in trip doesn't inconvenience him.
Chase debut today (has scope for fences) after a few moderate efforts over hurdles this autumn; every chance of seeing him in a better light now he tackles the bigger obstacles, and a bit of money for him would make him even more interesting.
In good form at present, winning at Plumpton and then bumping into a well-treated one at Uttoxeter last time; new mark has kicked in so more is needed, but step back up in trip may well help, and he holds e/w chances at worst.
Had a good time of it from a mark that was simply too low over the summer/autumn but a very disappointing effort at Ffos Las last time, and it may be it's all catching up with him now. Better ground may help, but others make more appeal.
Came good at Wincanton last time out, travelled well and could be called the winner some way out; 8lb rise, up half a mile in trip and possibly slower ground are the new questions to answer, but he's in good heart.
Only low grade over hurdles and has a mountain to climb on chase debut today. One for handicaps further down the line.
Going downhill at a rate of knots, showing little over hurdles and races from well out of the handicap here; needs a miracle on chase debut.
