- Fosse Way Nursery (Class 6)
- 1m 53y,
- 10 Runners
- Surface: Turf
Maiden (0-10); runner-up in a Newmarket seller (7f, good) in August and hasn't necessarily gone forward since; wasn't totally disgraced on heavy ground at Nottingham (6f) in June; preferred stablemate of Loco Dempsey.
Ran his best race so far when a 1¼L runner-up to Out Of Breath at Musselburgh (7f, good to firm) in August; has since left the care of Brian Ellison to join Jonathan Portman; heavy ground an obvious concern.
Twice placed, including when a 22-1 staying on second to Kyllwind at Newcastle (7f) three weeks ago; has inched back up the weights by a 1lb since; obvious shortlist material in such a porous looking nursery.
Close third on nursery debut at Chepstow (1m, good to soft) last month; while that form isn't particularly strong in the grander scheme of things and he's 3lb higher today, a mere reproduction would surely see him there or thereabouts.
Roderic O'Connor gelding; hasn't shown a great deal to enthuse over in three starts to date (all at 7f); allocated an opening handicap mark of 58.
Hasn't beaten a single rival in four starts since making his debut at Newbury (5f, soft); eased 8lb since introduced to handicapping at Goodwood (7f, good) in August.
Cityscape filly and stablemate of Lexington Quest; fairly low-key so far (6f-1m), although admittedly did fare marginally better at Newmarket (1m) latest; a significant improvement is needed (possible, but unlikely) on nursery debut.
Seven-race maiden; finished sixth of 13 (behind today's rival Sir Havelock) in a 7f nursery at Newcastle three weeks ago; is untested on ground this deep.
Hasn't threatened to land a blow as of yet (6f-1m), although he can be forgiven a poor run on the Fibresand at Southwell - that surface doesn't suit every horse. Therefore, is effectively starting off life again in nurseries.
3lb lower than when finishing seventh of 13 on nursery debut at Redcar (1m, good) three weeks ago; significantly more needed in added cheekpieces.
