Yard had winning favourite in this race 12 months ago and this gelding has been very consistent last seven starts, winning three. 6lb higher now though than last win over C&D in June so needs to find more to defy the handicapper.

May have found rattling fast ground at Bath against her last time and is excused her last of four there. Previously stayed on well to win over C&D off 6lb lower and not at all out of the question she might bounce backon return to this venue.

Won twice in France at 1m2f in the spring. Showed definite promise on debut for current yard at Goodwood earlier this month then caught close home at Kempton recently over 1m4f. Drop back in trip should suit and has solid claims.

Outpointed fair Just Hubert in kempton 1m2f novice stakes last season but hasn't really sparked in four starts this term and has moved from Ralph Becket to new yard. Eased 2lb for stable debut and not impossible change of scene may spark revival.

Verdict

GREY D'ARS has done well since moving from France and was a touch uinlcuky not to open his British account last time. He should be well served by this 2f shorter contest. Cardano will be thereabouts but appears handicapped to the hilt, but Bint Soghaan won well over C&D on her penultimate start prior to struggling on firm ground at Bath and is respected. The joker in the pack is the thoroughly unexposed Koduro who was a fair prospect last term but hasn't been seen for over a year. As ever in such circumstances, the markets could prove highly informative.
  1. Grey D'Ars
  2. Koduro
  3. Bint Soghaan
