Less exposed than his two rivals over fences (only a couple of runs in Novice Chases). Highest rated in the field after those two efforts. Should improve markedly from his most recent effort which was after an eight-month break. The one to beat.

Came agonisingly close to breaking his maiden duck at the fifth attempt over fences when denied by the rallying Who's My Jockey at Hexham (3m; good to soft) this month. That was still a decent effort and this is a slightly easier task.

Becoming quite frustrating and was turned over as an odds-on favourite for the third time in his relatively short career when second at Fontwell (2m3f; good) last time. Showed quite an unwilling attitude then and quite a bit to prove now.

Verdict

A small-field Novice Chase, but one of the more competitive races on the card. Risk And Roll made it eight runs over fences without a win, and his latest runner-up effort was bitterly disappointing when he was an odds-on favourite at Fontwell. Ennistown has had just two runs over fences and should be a different proposition to the one that finished fourth at Worcester at the beginning of the month when he was returning from a layoff then, but the Dan Skelton-trained NO HASSLE HOFF is preferred. The selection travelled supremely well last time before being outstayed late on at Hexham. With less of an emphasis on stamina he can notch a first career success over fences.
