- Mog's Spring Rock Inn Greetland Handicap (Class 5)
- 1m 2f 42y,
- 6 Runners
- Surface: Turf
Slowly away and ultimately a disappointment on handicap debut (first start over 1m2f); has demonstrated that he is capable of winning a race or two by twice finishing runner up at Nottingham (1m+); testing ground a plus.
Odds-on 1m1f+ Wolverhampton novice median auction winner; finished last of seven on turf/handicap debut at Bath (1m4f, good to firm) in April; off since and now encounters massively different conditions.
2lb lower than when winning by ½L on nursery handicap debut at Carlisle (7f, good to soft) in August 2018; has competed over varying trips since (1m-1m4f) without further success; slightly disconcerting to see the cheekpieces now applied.
Inconsistent, albeit would hold a rock-solid chance if replicating his seasonal reappearance/handicap debut 50/1 second to Rowland Ward (Doncaster, 1m4f good); dropping back in trip could well be a positive move; chance.
Left his juvenile Kempton AW form behind when finishing a clear second best (beaten 5L) to Jackamundo (a stablemate of Deebee) over C&D last Friday (50/1); can he back that up with another solid performance?
Beaten just ¾L by Creek Island (Mark Johnston) on handicap debut at Hamilton (1m1f, soft) a fortnight ago; didn't appear to stay the extended 1m3f here last week (finished last of six); holds a chance, but is equally beatable also.
