- Andy And Rachel Are Getting Married Handicap (Class 4)
- 1m 2f 42y,
- 9 Runners
- Surface: Turf
Nottingham winner (1m+, good); produced her best effort since when a ½L runner up to Victory Chime at Leicester (1m2f, good) a fortnight ago; 2lb higher; holds a chance if proving herself to be as effective on a testing racing surface.
Looked the real deal when winning for Marco Botti at Newcastle in September 2016; has taken time since joining this trainer for 50,000gns; 4L runner up to the now 100-rated West End Charmer at Doncaster (1m2f, gd/fm) 12 days ago; ground?
Strongest on the Westwood at Beverley (1m-1m2f); hasn't shown much of a zest for racing so far in 2019, although was inconvenienced by a poor wide draw latest; conditions aren't ideal but he should just about cope with them.
2lb higher than when forging clear of Bid Adieu at Epsom (1m2f, soft) last August, and was on the premises (beaten just over 3L) on seasonal reappearance at Windsor (1m2f); also declared here at Haydock on Wednesday (3.20pm).
8lb lower than when finishing 1¾L third to Borodin over 1m on soft ground at Thirsk in September 2018; stays this trip; beaten 2L (third) by Saturday's Beverley winner Archie Perkins at Redcar (1m2f, gd/fm) latest; chance.
Class 5 course winner (1m, soft) on handicap debut last April; runner up on his only other visit to this sharp track later in the year; easing in the weights after a low-key start to 2019 (beaten 11/4 favourite at Carlisle latest).
Six-race maiden; her best run came on handicap debut at Sandown (1m1f, good) last August when finishing third of six to Solar Echo; did flop on Ffos Las soft ground (1m2f); still fairly early days to be writing off just yet.
Flat maiden; March Musselburgh hurdles winner for new connections. However, the handicapper appears to have him in his pocket (beaten a neck over C&D on his penultimate start) so the blinkers and tongue-tie are now applied seeking an extra edge.
Formerly with David O'Meara; potentially well treated under optimum conditions on his second start for this trainer; stamina reserves are a slight concern but should be thereabouts if able to build positively upon Friday's C&D third to Motahassen.
