- Silk Mill Bar Ripponden Welcomes You Handicap (Class 4)
- 10 Runners
- Surface: Turf
Under very different conditions was headed close home in this race (third) in 2018; demonstrated blistering early pace (made all) when scoring over C&D last Thursday (soft) beating Boundary Lane by 1¼L; holds every chance under a 5lb penalty.
Took a step back in the right direction when running his best race so far this year at Wolverhampton (5f, claimer) latest; is capable of this mark; won twice as a juvenile on good to soft but is untested on heavy.
Has won twice already at Ripon this season (5f, good); sits 4lb above his last winning mark, when beating Acclaim The Nation by 2¼L; has just over 3L (third) to make up with Jabbarockie from their clash here last week.
Both of her previous turf wins have come on good ground (5f), but she proved that she handles soft on her seasonal reappearance at Nottingham when finishing 1L third to Peggie Sue (Hawaam third); 2lb higher here; chance.
Sole win from 17 starts came on soft ground at Nottingham (5f) last October; in reasonable shape so far this season (twice placed), showing his customary early pace; holds a similar chance to Maygold.
Sprung a 25/1 surprise when scoring from a 1lb lower mark at Windsor (5f, good) in April; hasn't quite replicated that form since, although was beaten just 5L when finishing sixth of nine to A Sure Welcome at Chepstow (5f, good to soft) on Saturday.
Largely consistent on turf last summer, winning from a 3lb lower mark in a Class 4 fillies' handicap at Doncaster (5f, good to firm) in July; 4/1jf but didn't get the clearest of runs on seasonal reappearance at Thirsk; ground?
AW regular who has been raised 6lb in the weights since pocketing a 5f Class 5 handicap on the Polytrack at Lingfield (12/1); it's difficult to say how she'll adapt to racing on turf (0-2), especially on such testing ground.
Mud-lark who is attractively weighted on the basis of his peak form during 2017 (includes a comfortable C&D win (soft)); failed to seriously threaten Jabbarockie over C&D last week (seventh); cheekpieces are now applied seeking more application.
Runner up on seasonal reappearance at Musselburgh (5f, good) in April, demonstrating with his ungainly head carriage exactly why he doesn't win all that often; fine on soft ground and is still slipping down the weights.
