Talented juvenile who won valuable contests at the Curragh (6½f) and Chantilly (5½f, Listed) in the latter half of 2018, but has fallen short of that form on both starts this year, most recently at the latter venue in a Group 3. Plenty to prove.

Best effort last year when second in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood (7f). That race did not work out well, however, and he seemed to find his limitations exposed afterwards. Drops in trip on return.

Well behind Dunkerron in the Vintage Stakes last August, but improved when second in the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at Kempton, before ending his season with a couple of poor runs. Hard to predict, but needs to progress in any case.

All three outings last year came in 6f novice events, winning at Newmarket, and showing improved form to beat Swissterious at Doncaster in September. Sure to progress again, and one to consider.

In frame in Group 2 July Stakes and Richmond Stakes over 6f last year, and ran up to his best when third of 7 to Calyx in Group 3 Pavilion Stakes at Ascot on his return. Should not be far away, although has a bit to find on form.

Very consistent last season, despite only getting his head in front once, and better than ever this spring, winning a competitive Newmarket handicap off a BHA mark of 98 last time. Well worth his place at this level based on that performance.

Improved on his sole 2-y-o outing when making all the running to land a 7f novice at Salisbury on return. Won't find pulling off such tactics easy up in class and down in trip, however.

Won twice last year, and placed in a French Group 3. Improved further when 1¾L second of 7 to Shine So Bright in Free Handicap at Newmarket on return, albeit getting weight from other principals. Needs to produce more to win at this level.

Ran with promise on debut at Salisbury and improved to win each of his next three starts in minor company. Not disgraced in Listed class at Ripon on final start, but needs to improve markedly to compete at this level.

Progressed well last year, ending with a fourth in the Cornwallis Stakes at 100/1. Ready winner of a weak race at Bath on return, but put in his place when sixth of 7 to Calyx in Pavilion Stakes at Ascot last time.

Best efforts have come over 5f at Sandown, most recently when second in a handicap there off 92. Didn't seem to stay when tried at 6f last year, but still unexposed, so not ruled out.

Won her first two starts on Polytrack, and very impressive when scoring by 6L at Lingfield in November. Lost her unbeaten record in Listed race at Chelmsford last time, but shaped best from a bad draw, and remains an exciting prospect.

Red Impression (7/2), Space Traveller (4/1), Moyassar (9/2), Khaadem (11/2), Kurious (8/1), Sunsprite (14/1), Barbill (16/1), Konchek (16/1), Oxted (20/1), Dunkerron (25/1), The Cruising Lord (25/1), Junius Brutus (33/1)

Verdict

RED IMPRESSION is yet to race on turf, but that is no great concern, and she ran very well in the circumstances when third at Chelmsford last time. With a better draw and a solid pace to aim at, she is taken to confirm the impression made at Lingfield that she is a high-class filly in the making. Moyassar and Khaadem, both representing Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum, look the pair most capable of spoiling the party.
