Overhauled an odds-on favourite to score at Hexham on less than advantageous terms. Faces a similar test here with the same headgear applied.

Picked up three races over hurdles for Dr Richard Newland in his prime. Latest form in point-to-points and a hunter chase suggest he is no longer in love with the game.

Has shown signs of ability in two bumpers, but a 10 month absence and a drop to this level suggest there have been issues.

Winner of a Listed Cheltenham bumper and a valuable Chepstow hurdle in his prime. Has looked unenthusiastic over fences and hard to know what to expect now. The fitting of blinkers and the booking of the champion jockey leave no stone unturned.

Dropped to a seller to open her account at Stratford before finding a longer trip in better company asking too much. Claims back at this level and she seems more consistent than most of her rivals.

Forecast

Old Salt (11/8), Wishfull Dreaming (11/8), Miss Adventure (4/1), Trafalgar Rock (14/1), Solway Lark (100/1)

Verdict

Trafalgar Rock and Wishfull Thinking would have little trouble landing this at their best, but it is doubtful that they can be relied upon to perform. Old Salt beat a 124-rated rival at Hexham off level weights and that sets the standard if the form line is reliable. MISS ADVENTURE receives weight all round and has recent winning form at this grade when scoring by 33L at Stratford. She has her quirks, but generally runs to a consistent level and only needs to do so again.
  1. Miss Adventure
  2. Old Salt
  3. Wishfull Dreaming
