C&D winner two years ago this month, useful efforts around here on the AW over the winter but rather tailed off since and was poor on turf at Goodwood (7f, good to soft) last month. Needs a revival.

Only two wins from 37 starts but has run really well in a higher grades on three occasions this term and surely is going to get the job done soon. Big player.

Consistent performer, for all that she's only 7-65 on career following recent Yarmouth (1m, good to firm) success. Up 4lb now and may prove vulnerable for win purposes.

Former C&D scorer, warming to her task in three runs this term and no surprise should she take advantage of sliding handicap mark sooner rather than later.

Winner on the AW at Wolverhampton in April, though since well-held third over this C&D. Tends to give running and no reason to doubt she'll do so again.

Produced a career best when forging clear to win easily at Nottingham on penultimate start, at odds with previous form, and failed to build on that when 6lb higher since at Hamilton. Up again in weights and opposable.

Weakened right out on reappearance at Haydock (6f, good) last month, will be fitter at least for that effort but others here look more likely.

Forecast

Make Music (3/1), Rebel Surge (3/1), Tai Hang Dragon (3/1), Crafty Madam (4/1), Island Cloud (9/2), Bint Dandy (15/2), Isstoora (10/1), Compton Poppy (40/1)

Verdict

CRAFTY MADAM has run well in both starts this season, suggesting there may be a bit more mileage in her. She was just behind Rebel Surge last time in third but is better off on today's terms and, given that rival doesn't win often, can reverse form and take this. Richard Spencer's charge should also be challenging. Former C&D winner Tai Hang Dragon is threatening to come to the boil nicely from a declining mark and joins Bint Dandy on the shortlist.
  1. Crafty Madam
  2. Rebel Surge
  3. Tai Hang Dragon
