Ran very well to not be denied far in a stronger handicap than this at Chester earlier in the month. Up 2lb and should be able to go very well here if arriving in the same sort of form.

Carries a 6lb penalty for winning at Thirsk last time out and this looks tougher, though 5f on good/good to firm ground should allow him to show something like his best.

Plough Boy (7/4), Tanasoq (15/8), Powerallied (11/4), Elysian Flyer (5/1), Oriental Lilly (9/1)

Verdict

POWERALLIED caught the eye when running very well in defeat during a quality handicap at Chester earlier in the month, and off just 2lb lower should be up to taking a race of this nature especially on ground which should suit. He is taken to see off recent Thirsk winner Tanasoq, who may have to settle for second carrying a penalty, while Elysian Flyer may struggle on the ground.
