€85,000 yearling by Casamento and half-brother to five winners including useful Italian miler Escalada. Debuts for a yard who regularly get winners here and the market is often informative.

Plenty of speed in the pedigree and he made his debut here over 6f behind an easy winner. Would appear to have races to be won with him, but probably at a lower level than this.

Picked up from Richard Hannon's yard for 13,000 gns having shown promise on his first three starts. Sire does not have a strong record for AW winners and his last run at Chelmsford was his worst performance so far.

Cheap purchase who was beaten 8¾L into fourth in a minor race at Kempton in debut. Not knocked about that day and better to come, but handicaps look a more likely route.

Half-brother to three-time AW winner Murdanova so this should be his trip. Caught the eye on his debut when looking green and all at sea on the Lingfield undulations. Better surely to come and stable's runners always have to be feared around here.

Much better last time although still beaten a fair distance. Further progress likely over this extra furlong on a stiff track.

Made a promising enough debut when made favourite, but the form looks poor in hindsight with the first two only achieving ratings in the mid-60s. Next race may have come too soon and he has been given time to develop. Worth a check in the market.

Half-brother to Wigan Warrior by Delegator who fetched €10,000 as a yearling. Highly tried on debut and looks the yard's second string.

Half-brother to six winners including Caulfield Cup winner All The Good. Family have needed 1m2f as a minimum and stable not accustomed to having them ready first time.

Half-sister to a turf winner in the US and an AW winner in Canada. Sire not that well known but acted on all surfaces in the US and was effective up to 1m1f. Makes her debut with yard in good form and under a rider who has a good record for them.

Has shown little in both starts and looks set to get a modest handicap mark once she completes this contest.

Well held on both starts and needs to step up appreciably in order to spring what would be a huge shock.

€50,000 yearling by Havana Gold and relates to several winners including Listed sprinter Inyordreams. Stable have made a good start to 2018 and the market has usually proved informative.

Forecast

Casey Jones (11/4), Pak Choi (7/2), New Orleans (7/2), Poet's Pride (9/2), Duba Plains (5/1), Lait Au Chocolat (14/1), Wunderbar (16/1), Citron Major (18/1), Coastal Drive (22/1), Royal Rattle (25/1), Thama (50/1), The Bull (50/1), Miss Mollie (80/1)

Verdict

The market will tell us more about the debutants Casey Jones, Lait Au Chocolat and Wunderbar. It should also provide a pointer to Poet's Pride who took the eye when backed on his debut before flopping ten days later. It is likely that came too soon, but he may go on to prove better than we have seen so far. Citron Major finished third to an easy winner here on his debut but he will improve for the experience and a similar remark applies to NEW ORLEANS. Hugo Palmer's charge looked green at Lingfield on his first start and it was no surprise to see him struggle with the track. He applied himself well in the closing stages and this stiffer circuit looks sure to help.
  1. New Orleans
  2. Casey Jones
  3. Lait Au Chocolat
