Frustrating type who hasn't won since 2015. Has run well in Group company on more than one occasion but recent effort on AW Championships Final's Day was disappointing and he can be an awkward ride. Trainer started the season in good form but likely to struggle against some smart looking rivals.

Well suited to 7f and won a Group 3 after taking last year's renewal of this race. Proceeded to run well in defeat in a pair of Group 2's in the summer and he can be forgiven a below par effort at the Breeders' Cup. Fully effective when he races from the front and should have no problems getting to the lead in this field. Has gone well fresh before and may be the one they all have to beat.

Narrowly defeated on AW Championships Final's Day when finishing a close second to Sovereign Debt but very disappointing in the Lincoln the time before and needs to prove he can be as effective on turf. Best form has come in big fields over a little further and he may struggle to get cover so perhaps best watched this time around.

Not won since a Listed win at Haydock in May but some creditable efforts in defeat since including a Group 3 at York. 7f with a little cut in the ground will be right up his street and the booking of Moore is an obvious bonus so he should go well provided he gets some rain. Has a fair record fresh (won seasonal reappearance last year and runner-up in 2015) and should run well.

Won a Newbury Listed race and a valuable race at York as a juvenile and followed that up with a Group 3 win at Chelmsford (normally held at Newbury) as a three-year-old. Disappointing performance when last seen but never really got going and he has always given the impression there's more to come. May be a different proposition this season. Leading player.

Forecasts

Home Of The Brave (5/6), Tasleet (5/1), So Beloved (11/2), Nimr (6/1), Donjuan Triumphant (10/1)

Verdict

A Listed race only in name with some Group class performers in here and last year's winner of this , HOMEOFTHEBRAVE looks set to get his optimum conditions once again and he will prove hard to pass on the front end. So Beloved hasn't won since his seasonal reappearance last year but he goes well fresh and a big run is expected with Ryan Moore booked. Tasleet possibly hasn't been the easiest to train but there could be more to come if he can put a decent run of races together this year.
