Free horse racing selections for Monday January 21

Nick Robson fancies War Tiger to come good at Wolverhampton this evening - he has a tip for every race on the card.

NAP: War Tiger (5.25 Wolverhampton)

Next Best: Windsor Avenue (3.30 Sedgefield)

War Tiger looked a winner waiting to happen last time out and will take all the beating in the Ladbrokes Home Of The Odds Boost Novice Stakes at Wolverhampton.

Richard Fahey's three-year-old has well-connected owners, and as such he is beautifully bred.

By War Front, he is out of Quarter Moon - who ran in the same colours to finish second in the Oaks to Kazzia, having won the Moyglare Stud Stakes as a two-year-old.

She has produced some useful offspring - none better than Diamondsandrubies, who beat the top-class Legatissimo in the Pretty Polly Stakes of 2015.

War Tiger has started at a lowly level but showed promise on debut when a close fourth over nine and a half furlongs.

He stepped up on that next time when third at Newcastle - and while he was beaten further, he was doing his best work at the finish having being caught a little flat footed.

That looked a hot event, with the Godolphin newcomer One Vision highly touted before winning, so he can make amends in what looks an easier race.

Lorna Cole looks useful for William Muir and can take her record to three from four in the Ladbrokes Handicap.

A winner on her debut at Lingfield in November, she went close to defying a penalty the following month when drawn wide.

Up at Newcastle last time out, she was sent off an odds-on shot and comfortably did the business. An opening mark of 75 looks fair.

Captain Dan made a successful trip from Ireland to win here at the beginning of last month.

John James Feane sends him on his travels again, for the Betway Heed Your Hunch Handicap, and the five-year-old can continue to make up for lost time.

Man Of Verve represents the red-hot stable of Phil Kirby in the Sun Racing No1 Racing Site.

Fourth at Newcastle, he might have just found the trip a little on the short side. This extra furlong will be more up his street.

Laskadine looks a very interesting newcomer for powerful connections in the racingtv.com Juvenile Hurdle at Warwick.

Bought from France after winning her only race, she will sport the colours of JP McManus and has been sent into training with Nicky Henderson.

The Martaline filly won a Listed hurdle at Auteuil by an impressive six lengths in September for Guy Cherel, beating a stablemate.

The third won next time out to give the form a bit of substance - and as she is related to black-type winners, she could be an exciting prospect.

Henderson also looks to hold strong claims in the Henley-In-Arden Mares' "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle, with Yellow Dockets.

The lightly-raced seven-year-old has only had three outings under rules to date, but she was an impressive winner over the same course and distance last time out.

It looked a decent enough event that she won, so there is every chance she is capable of defying a penalty.

Tim Vaughan's Briac could not have been more impressive in winning at Ffos Las the other day, and anything like a reproduction in the Butterwick Handicap Chase at Sedgefield will see him go in again.

Vaughan actually sponsored the event in Wales, so there is a chance Briac was trained specifically for that race - with anything else in bonus territory.

However, the fact he held this entry before he won suggested the trainer had a rough idea of the outcome at Ffos Las - because he will be set for a monster rise in the weights on Tuesday.

Windsor Avenue went close in a race that is working out well at Newcastle and should take all the beating in the Mainsforth EBF "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle.

A winner at Hexham earlier in the season, he was stepped up in class for The French Furze at Newcastle on Fighting Fifth day.

He was beaten only three-quarters of a length into fourth - and while the winner Ask Ben was 50-1, the beaten favourite Beakstown was second and has since won a Grade Two.
