Weekend eyecatchers to add to your My Stable tracker

Ian Ogg picks out five horses that caught his eye on Saturday that could be worth adding to your My Stable tracker.

Jury Duty - Gordon Elliott

One of the more obvious contenders after qualifying for the Pertemps Network Final at the Cheltenham Festival on this first start since late November. No match for the well-backed and unexposed Gayebury, this was still a fine run that will have set him up nicely for next month (assuming he goes) and it was no surprise to see the layers slash him to 14/1. Quicker ground at Cheltenham could well bring about some improvement as he ran big races at the Fairyhouse and Punchestown Festivals on yielding and there should be a lot more to come from this six-year-old after just nine career starts.

Two Hoots - Paul Nicholls

His form doesn't suggest he's going forwards as he was beaten 24 lengths on debut  (behind River Wylde in a bumper), 34 lengths on his hurdling bow (behind Bastien) and 43 lengths in the MPS Network Maiden Hurdle at Chepstow on Saturday. Handicapping is clearly going to be his metier and he can now head in that direction if connections so choose although they may look to give him more experience as he raced a shade keenly on Saturday. He never got into a challenging position but he did take the eye in making headway in the straight before tiring in the closing stages on the testing ground and he looks to have the ability to progress from a modest starting point.

Shwaiman - Michael Banks

He was beaten 34 lengths into eighth in the opening handicap hurdle at Kempton but this was just his second start since Royal Ascot in 2015 and his first for Michael Banks. He raced a shade keenly but was still in contention turning for home and did enough to believe that the motor remains intact and just needs some fine tuning. The handicapper has only dropped him by 2lbs and a couple more would probably help although he was a hundred rated horse on the Flat in his prime. He does have something to prove but could be the type to enjoy some success on the summer circuit at somewhere like Stratford and is worth monitoring for his next few starts.

Mori Yoshinari (Richard Hannon) & Many Waters (Andrew Balding)

If the form of this maiden doesn't work out then this pair are going south but it looked a fair race on paper and the runner-up has been given a rating of 76 and the winner 77. Mori Yoshinari was very easy to back and ran very green but still got up to win on debut and looks worth following in the early part of the season as he's entitled to improve from this run. Improvement should certainly be forthcoming from Many Waters who did attract some interest in the market and who wasn't given too hard a time on this introduction. She also showed her inexperience through the race and could step up markedly on this run next time.
