Ed Chamberlin with Sir Anthony McCoy on all things racing including a look at the King George VI Chase

In the first instalment of our Sir Anthony McCoy exclusive, Ed Chamberlin chats to 'The Champ' about the horse which carries his nickname, among other subjects.

McCoy explains the story behind the naming of Nicky Henderson's impressive Newbury winner Champ, with the Challow Hurdle nominated as the hugely promising horse's next big target.

McCoy also reflects on his favourite King George VI Chase memories and offers his views on this year's renewal on Boxing Day featuring Might Bite, Bristol De Mai, Thistlecrack, Politologue and Native River.

We'll be publishing the rest of the interview in the run-up to Christmas, where the 20-times champion jockey discusses life out of the saddle and the potential for him to one day become a trainer himself (spoiler alert: he's not keen on the idea!).
