Count Otto can strike again at Epsom by repeating his July success on Tuesday - Keith Hamer previews the action.

Nap: Count Otto (3.15 Epsom)

Next Best: Gawdawpalin (3.50 Epsom)

Count Otto can strike for the second time at Epsom this summer by repeating his July success in the Terry Mills & John Akehurst Handicap.

The six furlongs at the switchback course appeared to suit the Amanda Perrett-trained sprinter, who came with a strong run in the closing stages to collar Little Boy Blue and register victory by half a length.

The four-year-old has run particularly well in his last two races at Goodwood and Newmarket, and can have his turn again back on familiar territory.

Gawdawpalin is another past winner who should relish going back to the Epsom Downs for the Stanley Wootton Handicap.

Sylvester Kirk's charge had arguably his finest hour when landing a 10-furlong handicap on Derby day in 2016 and while he has been soundly beaten in three races this term, his love for this course can spark a revival.

Dark Defender can see off the opposition to capture the Watch Sky Sports Racing In HD Handicap at Ripon.

The six-year-old struck at the North Yorkshire track in May on his second start since for Rebecca Bastiman, after being bought out of Keith Dalgleish's stable for £15,000 in the autumn.

The Pastoral Pursuits gelding is back in the same grade he was successful in after tackling slightly better company in four starts since then and is also back to that mark.

Dawaaleeb can bounce back after a disappointing trip down to Newbury from Les Eyre's Beverley yard by ending a 14-month losing streak in the attheraces.com City of Ripon Handicap.

The five-year-old had previously been placed in decent contests at Newmarket and Redcar. He deserves another chance.

Airbrush shaped well on her handicap bow when runner-up at Brighton and Richard Hannon's two-year-old can open her account in the Sky Sports Racing On Virgin 535 Nursery at Bath.

The daughter of Camacho is clearly not one of her trainer's star juveniles, having seemingly had her limitations exposed in maiden and novice company at Newmarket, Kempton and Sandown.

However, she entered the handicap arena on a mark off a mark of 66 almost three weeks ago and while favourite backers ultimately had their fingers burnt, she lost little in defeat in going down by half a length. Up 3lb for her latest assignment, she should prove hard to beat.

Ascot Week has twice been beaten since scoring at Ripon, but is fancied to hit back in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap at Musselburgh.

John Quinn's five-year-old likes the course, having won at the Scottish circuit last August.
