Matt Brocklebank and David Ord head to Pontefract for their best bets - the nap selection a Kevin Ryan-trained handicap debutant.
Every day, our team of racing experts will pull together their strongest fancies, headlined by the Sporting Life Nap.
Tuesday's best bets...
REVIETTE - 1.15 Pontefract (NAP)
Kevin Ryan's Reviette looks more than a shade interesting on seasonal debut in Pontefract's five furlong handicap - the Atlas Leisure Homes Ltd Handicap.
She's not been seen since the end of September when only seventh of 10 but that Haydock run came on heavy ground, and was coupled with a first crack at six furlongs.
She'd previously showed a fair level of promise when fourth and third at Beverley earlier in the summer, both efforts coming on much quicker ground, and the return to a sound surface and drop back to the minimum trip should suit her here.
An initial mark of 70 is no gimme but gives the daughter of Kyllachy a decent chance from which to progress and her yard doesn't particularly well with three-year-old sprinters. (Matt Brocklebank)
SHAWAAMEKH - 3.55 Pontefract
Summerghand will be a warm order for the King Richard III Handicap after his fine second in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot.
However the big field, strong gallop scenario there played to his strengths and there's no guarantee they'll go hard up from in this.
That could very much bring Shawaamekh into the fray. He shaped well for a long way on his return to action at Redcar and will be razor sharp here. He'll need to be dropping to six furlongs, a distance he hasn't been tested at before, but it could suit and he still has relatively low mileage.
He'll be able to either lead or sit very handy here and could prove hard to pass as his stamina kicks on the climb to the line. (David Ord)
