Jedd O'Keeffe has stressed that the bruised foot which will delay Sam Spinner's reappearance is nothing serious.
The classy staying hurdler, who won the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot last season, was expected to make his comeback in the West Yorkshire Hurdle at Wetherby on Saturday week.
That is now off the agenda, but he should be fine to run in Newbury's Long Distance Hurdle at the Ladbrokes Trophy meeting.
"We don't think it's serious, but it's very frustrating," said O'Keeffe.
"He's slightly sore on his left fore. Obviously he's getting all the treatment, but we are running out of time, so we just thought we'd let everyone know he wouldn't make Wetherby.
"I was already getting worried about the lack of rain for Wetherby in any case. He'd have run on the soft side of good - but if it was genuine good ground, we'd have missed it anyway.
"It's incredible how dry it has been. But probably what will happen is it will go from one extreme to the other, with nothing in between."
