Nick Grant selects Growl to win the Stewards' Cup for Richard Fahey on Saturday - he has a tip for every race on every card.

Growl can make it third-time lucky in the Unibet Stewards' Cup at Goodwood on Saturday.

Richard Fahey's sprinter was fourth two years ago behind Dancing Star from a mark of 99, before finishing second in the Ayr Gold Cup, while last year he filled the same spot behind Lancelot Du Lac from 10lb higher.

That was undoubtedly his best run last season, as it appeared an ambitious trip to Hong Kong to take on the best sprinters in the world had left a lasting mark.

Since that promising effort 12 months ago though, admittedly when Connor Murtagh took 7lb off his back, he has not been in anything like the same form.

He was second on his return this year, but was beaten nine lengths by Kachy, and then he was only mid-division in the Wokingham at Ascot.

There was more to like about his most recent effort at York, when fourth to Flying Pursuits, for which the handicapper dropped him another pound down to 98, so he must surely be winning soon.

The form of Melting Dew's last win took a massive boost earlier in the week and he looks the one to be on in the Qatar Summer Handicap.

He just held off the William Haggas-trained Alfarris, the winner of a competitive race over 10 furlongs at the meeting on Tuesday.

Melting Dew is stepping up half a mile in trip, but he was running over 12 furlongs last season and Sir Michael Stoute knows what he is doing.

The return to Goodwood can spark Dee Ex Bee back to life in the Qatar Gordon Stakes.

Mark Johnston's Derby runner-up has been below that form the last twice but some horses love this place and he bolted up on his debut in Sussex.

At Newmarket, the regally-bred Swiss Knight could have been let in lightly for the Become A Friend Of Racing Welfare Handicap.

By Oasis Dream out of Swiss Diva, he looked smart when winning on his second start, but looked to be floundering last time out at Haydock when rain on top of watered ground caused him to wheel spin.

The meant he was handed an opening mark of 85 which could seriously underestimate him.

Willie John is the potential star on show at Doncaster in the Unison And LV Liverpool Victoria Car Insurance Novice Stakes.

Bought out of William Haggas yard for nearly two million guineas after winning his only start, he holds an entry in the Juddmonte International for his new trainer Roger Varian.

Jeremiah is an interesting runner for Charlie Fellowes in the JW 4x4 Northallerton Handicap at Thirsk having been outclassed in the Queen's Vase.

Elegiac is the best bet at Chelmsford in the Bet totetrifecta At totesport.com Handicap, while Loving Pearl looks the standout at Lingfield in the CLUB188 Exclusive Offers Novice Median Auction Stakes.
