West Approach can keep the hot streak of jockey Robbie Power going with victory in the Ladbrokes Trophy Chase at Newbury.

Power's connection with Colin Tizzard has paid rich dividends, not least with the likes of last week's Betfair Chase hero Lostintranslation, and West Approach advertised his claims for this historic handicap with a fine success at Cheltenham earlier this month.

Having hit the bar on his initial start at Prestbury Park, West Approach ended a near two-year barren spell when given a peach of a ride by Power at the November meeting.

The Grand National-winning pilot bided his time until after the last, and West Approach powered up the Cheltenham hill to win by a cosy three lengths in pretty testing conditions.

West Approach is saddled with a 4lb penalty for that win - but the handicapper put him up 8lb in the interim, so he is still well in and will certainly handle soft ground.

He has had only two weeks to get over his Cheltenham run, but the fact he is Power's pick over others in the yard speaks volumes.

Reserve Tank can make it a high-profile double for Tizzard and Power in the Ladbrokes John Francome Novices' Chase.

A dual Grade One winner over hurdles, Reserve Tank suffered a shock defeat on his fencing bow, but put that right with a Grade Two win at Wincanton at the start of the month.

He was 11lb clear of his nearest rival that day - and while he was not foot-perfect, he did not make any massive blunders and was ultimately a very comfortable three-and-three-quarter-length winner.

Reserve Tank must shoulder a penalty, but the Tizzard team have made no secret of the regard in which he is held.

Epatante can get her career back on track in the Ladbrokes "Where The Nation Plays" Intermediate Hurdle.

A Grade One bumper winner in France, Epatante also struck on her first two starts for Nicky Henderson, prompting connections to pitch her into the meres' novices' hurdle at the Festival.

Sent off favourite for that race, Epatante endured a less than ideal passage and hit the second-last, all of which ensured she was nowhere near at the finish.

However, she remains a mare of potential and should not be written off just yet.

Stablemate Buveur D'Air has much more to recommend his chances as he shoots for a hat-trick in the Betfair Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle.

He perhaps was not at his very best last season. But after a surprise fall in the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham and defeat in desperate conditions at Aintree, he at least rounded off with a win at Punchestown.

If Henderson has him firing on all cylinders again this term, it would be no surprise to see Buveur D'Air back on top in March - and it is virtually impossible to look beyond him here.

Jonniesofa can continue to make up for lost time in the Betfair Rehearsal Handicap Chase.

He appeared to have huge potential in his early days, but has had his troubles and only recently returned from more than 670 days on the sidelines with a win at Ayr.

It may not have been the best race, but it was good to see Jonniesofa back on the scoreboard - and if Rose Dobbin can keep him right, he is eminently capable of picking up a nice prize like this.

Power Link has won two of his last three starts, and he can further augment those figures in the Bombardier Golden Beer Handicap at Wolverhampton.

He clearly likes the Tapeta, because his three career wins have on that surface, twice scoring at Dunstall park of late to go with a win at Newcastle last term.

Power Link has seemingly found his stride, returned to James Tate after a spell in Dubai last winter, and his recent head victory off a career-high mark of 90 illustrates that point.

A further 2lb rise here should not be beyond him.

Striking Approach shaped well on his only start to date at Newmarket back in August and can keep up the good work in the Ladbrokes "Play 1-2-Free" On Football EBF Novice Stakes.

Roger Charlton sticks at seven furlongs, with Striking Approach sure to have learnt a bit for that outing.

East Of Eden is another to makeman all-weather debut, in the Ladbrokes Where The Nation Plays Novice Stakes.

Beaten a length and a quarter at Newmarket on her first attempt in July, East Of Eden cut little nice next time when she was nearly 10 lengths behind the fourth back at Headquarters.

The winner was subsequently placed at Group Two level in France, though - while the seventh has come out and won since - so she may be worth another chance.
