Racing betting tips: Saturday's preview

Ashley Iveson was on the mark with Magical Memory at Newbury on Saturday - he has a tip for every UK and Irish race.

Corinthia Knight should be suited by the five furlongs at Newbury for the valuable Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury.

There does not appear to be a standout contender this year, certainly not of the Tiggy Wiggy or Mrs Danvers variety anyway.

With that in mind it is worth banking on Archie Watson's youngster to return to winning ways.

One of the most impressive juveniles seen out early season, he won his first two at Lingfield and Kempton before being blown away by the much classier Frozen Angel at Ascot.

He returned there for the Windsor Castle last time out and was not disgraced when ninth of 22, but the way the weights for this race are framed by purchase price suits him as a 15,000 euro buy.

As long as he handles the expected cut in the ground he should show up well in an open race.

Magical Memory can continue his resurgence in the bet365 Hackwood Stakes.

The Charlie Hills-trained grey won the Abernant and the Duke of York Stakes last season before being beaten just half a length in the Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot.

Results have been mixed since. Magical Memory disappointed in the July Cup and the Sprint Cup at Haydock and while he kicked off this season with a fine effort to finish second when defending his Duke of York title, he ran a shocker on his return to the Royal meeting last month.

However, he made the most of having his sights lowered to land a conditions race at Haydock a fortnight ago and with confidence restored, he can start climbing the ladder once more in this Group Three test.

Mount Logan should give another good account of himself in the Listed bet365 Stakes - better known as the Steventon Stakes.

The six-times winner has run two sound races so far this season, finishing third in similar races to this at Goodwood and Newmarket.

He has not helped himself with tardy starts in the past and if that issue can be rectified, he is capable of taking his game to a new level for Roger Varian.

Smart Together looks a decent shout in the Betbright Aphrodite Stakes at Newmarket.

John Gosden's filly has a fair bit to find on official ratings with a few of her rivals, but is open to huge improvement.

The daughter of Smart Strike never threatened to take a hand on her only juvenile appearance on the Rowley Mile, but made a successful start to her three-year-old campaign at Haydock.

She then tackled the mile and a quarter for the first time in a Listed heat at Newbury and shaped with abundant promise to finish third behind stablemate Elas Ruby, who has since gone close in a Group Two in France.

Smart Together is entitled to have learnt plenty from her latest experience and a further step up to a mile and a half should suit.

Recent York scorer Mukhayyam has solid claims of following up in the Ripon Bell-Ringer Handicap.

Tim Easterby's charge is a previous course and distance winner and looks up to defying a 5lb hike.

Market Rasen stages one of its biggest meetings of the year, with the Betfred TV Summer Hurdle and the Betfred Summer Plate both fiercely competitive handicaps.

Ebony Express made a successful return from a mammoth absence at Uttoxeter at the start of the month and provided the dreaded 'bounce' factor does not take effect, he must be a major player in the Summer Hurdle.

The eight-year-old is still 5lb lower in the weights than when winning the Imperial Cup at Sandown a couple of years ago and gets into this field on a low weight.

Peter Bowen has won the Plate on more than one occasion in the past and has another leading contender in Earthmoves, who is fancied to follow up last month's course and distance success under the trainer's son, Sean.
