Richard Fahey: Crown-ing glory? | Doncaster St Leger meeting day one

Top trainer Richard Fahey gives us his thoughts on his runners for the first day of the Doncaster St Leger meeting today.

We run three in the Owlerton Greyhound Stadium Nursery at Doncaster today.

Crownthorpe was very impressive at Sandown the last day but the handicapper has had a strong say about that. However he switched off well that day and came home strongly and will be competitive again.

Guzman is a horse I like but he’s been a fraction disappointing. Seven furlongs on soft ground will suit him and he could go well.

I’ve wanted to run Inviolable Spirit over seven furlongs for some time. He’s run ok the last couple of times and if he stays he’s another with each-way claims.

I’d love to see Character Onesie win the Clipper Logistics Leger Legends Classified Stakes. He’s in great order and has been knocking on the door of late without getting through it. Hopefully that can can change today but we’ll see.

I’m a little worried about the ground with Six Strings.

He was very disappointing on it at Goodwood but I’m hoping that was down to an awful draw rather than the going. If it was he’s capable of winning a race like the William Hill Get The App On Google Play Handicap but it is competitive.
