Richard Fahey on his Friday Epsom team and Saturday runners around the country

Our star columnist Richard Fahey has three runners at Epsom on Derby day and plenty more around the country - get his thoughts on all of them here.

Saturday team

13:40 Musselburgh - My Kinda Day

He’s a colt I really like and I was extremely disappointed with his first run at York. I’m sure he’s better than that. He’s come out of the race very well and we’re happy to run him again. We think he’s very nice.

1355 Doncaster - Bravo Faisal

He improved from his Leicester debut at Haydock last time and the step up in trip helped him. He needs to step up again but that could happen as he's half-a-furlong further to go and the couple of runs have done him no harm.

1400 Epsom - Red Hot

She’s a filly we really like. The handicapper has given her an opening mark of 90 and it will be interesting to see how she goes on against the colts. She’s in great order.

1415 Musselburgh - Furzig

He hasn’t had much racing after a few little niggles but battled well to win at Thirsk last time, doing everything right. He could still be improving.

1430 Doncaster - Amber Spark

She won at two but I’m not sure what to make of her ahead of her reappearance here as she’s a bit fussy at home. We’ll let her run and see what happens.

1450 Musselburgh - King Of Tonga

I thought he ran okay at Chester last time where he was just stuck in limbo a bit in horrible ground. He has a good draw here and could run very well.

1450 Musselburgh - Pacino

I’m a little worried about the ground for him as he didn’t like it at Chester – mind you soft ground there and at Musselburgh would be very different. He’s drawn wider than I’d like too but is capable on his day.

1540 Doncaster - Delph Cresent

He ran better than his finishing suggests over a mile-and-a-half at York last time and is in great form. This represents a drop in grade and he should run very well.

1545 Epsom - Fool For You

She’s drawn eight and I always prefer to be higher than that in the Dash at Epsom. She naturally very quick and it’s just a question of whether she’s going to be good enough to win this from 90 as she’ll be able to lay up and hold her position which is important.

1600 Musselburgh - Nicki’s Angel

She’s a filly I really liked last year but she chipped a knee and had an operation. This is a fact-finding mission to see if she still wants it and it’s a competitive race – as you’d expect for a Listed contest.

16:15 Doncaster - Gunnison

I thought he was a horse for handicaps and he might still be but this isn’t the strongest of novice races on paper at least so we’ll see.

16:50 Doncaster - Irreverent

A horse I’m mad about. I was hoping he’d get into a valuable pot at Haydock last week but he was balloted out so we head here. It’s a step down from that intended target and he’s a very nice horse.

16:55 Musselburgh - Requinto Drawn

He’s lost his way but the slower ground will help him here and he’s dropped a few pounds in the handicap so you never know.

1730 Musselburgh - Royal Cosmic

He ran well at Hamilton earlier in the week and Megan Nicholls has a good record for us in these Silk Series races. Let’s hope the successful association continues.

1745 Lingfield - Jazz Hands

We tried to stretch him too far last time so the step back to ten furlongs will help him here. It isn't the greatest of races and if he’s back to the form that saw him win two starts ago he'd have a chance.

17:50 Epsom - Gabrial The Devil

He runs on Friday and we’ll see how he is but again he’s fared badly with the draw.

20:45 Lingfield - Bataar

He’s a horse we really like but we still don’t know what his best trip is or what ground he's most effective on. This represents a drop in grade and while he has top weight he’s very fit and very well. I hope he runs a big race.
