Ventura Rebel represents our star columnist in Thursday's Norfolk Stakes and he has high hopes that the son of Pastoral Pursuits can go close.
VENTURA REBEL – Norfolk Stakes (2.30 Thursday)
He’s a colt we’re very happy with. He’s two from two including a win over the course and distance last time. Ascot form is always a plus although the ground will be a little unknown for him if it stays on the easy side.
I think he’ll be okay as long as it doesn’t get desperate, and the forecast wouldn’t suggest that, and I honestly wouldn’t swap him for anything in this race. We’re very pleased with him. Physically he’s come forward from his last run. We took him for an away day last week because he hadn’t run for a little while and he went very well. He’s a horse who's progressing.

MOON OF LOVE – Albany Stakes (2.30 Friday)
She finished third on her debut in the Hilary Needler at Beverley. It was a big ask going to a race like that first time but her work beforehand had been very good and she ran well, not enjoying a clear passage at a crucial stage and finishing third.
She’s a filly we like but it’s competitive with 26 going to post and she’ll need loads of luck this time but she’s a two-year-old we really like.
EXCEPTIONAL – Albany Stakes (2.30 Friday)
She won on debut at Carlisle doing the opposite to what I expected. I told Tony Hamilton to drop her in that day to make sure she had a chance of getting home as she’s quite pacey and she sat behind on the bridle and came home to win by outstaying them. The run has done her the world of good, the Cheveley Park fillies can keep on improving and she went well in her prep work last week too. She's pacey. If either was placed I’d be delighted.
