Richard Fahey: Borodin draw worry | Saturday guide from our columnist

Richard Fahey talks us through his Saturday team with the draw a concern for his leading Thirsk Hunt Cup fancy.

Thirsk runners

Itwouldberudenotto (2.00). He's ready for a race but I think he's going to want further in time and I'd be a little surprised if he was up to winning this on debut.

The Ginger Bullet (2.00). He ran okay at Beverley the other day. He doesn't show a lot at home but did one piece of work that showed improvement. If he does come forward from that first run he'd have a small chance.

Paddy Power (2.30). Getting himself very well handicapped but we're running out of excuses for him. He needs to bounce back but would go close if he did.

Requinto Dawn (2.30). In contrast I think he's in the grip of the handicapper. He's running consistently okay without looking like winning. It would be a pleasant surprise if he was to win this.

Knowing Glance (3.40). A horse that works very well at home and I thought he should have won his final start at Doncaster last season. I'm just a fraction worried he might just need his reappearance but if he is straight enough then he has a chance here.

Borodin (4.15). Ran very well to finish third in the Spring Mile at Newbury on his reappearance and he loves the track here at Thirsk. That's a definite plus but the draw in 15 isn't. It's going to be very difficult from out there and I hope they go flat out early so we can slot in and look to pick up the pieces.

Keska (4.50). A filly that probably needs to go down the handicapping route but we'll give her a run here and see how she fares.

Doncaster runners

Lucky Lucky Man (5.15): He got hammered for winning the Bronze Cup at Ayr last October and has struggled at Ascot and Ripon since. He's down two pounds here but might need more help.

Ginger Max (7.20). This is a horse I really like. He just had a little issue after his debut at Wolverhampton and might be sharper for this but he's going to be a racehorse one day and it would be nice if it started here.

Sempre Presto (8.20). Ran well on her reappearance at Pontefract and should be competitive in this. It's a warm race but she's in good form for all she's creeping up the handicap.
