Richard Fahey column on his Saturday team for York's Ebor Festival, Newmarket and Redcar

Check out our star columnist's thoughts on his team for the final day of the Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival.

Saturday's runners

13:50 York - Forest Ranger

He’s carrying a Group Two penalty for winning the Huxley which makes it tough for him. He’s been placed in the race before and I’d be delighted if he managed that again.

13:50 York - Space Traveller

I’ve been mad keen to have a go at a mile with this fellow and we’re trying a mile and 177 yards here so we’ll definitely find out if he stays. He’s out of a Galileo mare and there’s every chance he’ll get the trip and if he does he’ll go well.

14:10 Newmarket - Saint Of Katowice

He’s been unlucky in that he’s met some decent horses along the way but his form is working out well and I think he’s been given a chance by the handicapper. I’d be disappointed if he didn’t run well.

15:00 York - Mr Lupton

This is a Group One in all but name. I’m interested to see how he gets on over seven furlongs as it might suit him but I could have found an easier race to find out.

16:10 York - Dylan De Vega

He’s a good, solid, hardy horse and we’re putting cheekpieces on here as Tony Hamilton just feels he keeps a little for himself. Hopefully they’ll make him concentrate and he can step up again as he’s a horse with plenty of boot.

16:10 York - Mighty Spirit

She’s a star. I’m being tough on her but she’s not giving me any chance not to be as she bounces out of her races so well. This is a warm heat but she’ll give her running and I’d be delighted if she was placed.

16:45 York - Another Touch

He ran well from an ordinary draw in the John Smith’s Cup last time and has fared a little better on that front here. He’d have a chance.

16:45 York – Furzig

He’s got to step up but is going the right way. He’s not had a lot of racing and is learning how to do it properly now. He did well to win at Newcastle last time and could easily improve again.

16:45 York - Society Red

On a going day he’d have a chance of being placed, on a bad day he wouldn’t. That’s him I’m afraid but he’s run well here before and isn’t a horse I’d ever draw a line through at York.

17:30 Redcar - Bond's Boy

He’s a big horse who has just grown and grown but he’s ready to start out now and this looked a good place to get him going.

17:30 Redcar – Ventura Express

He’s one who will definitely win a novice. He just had a small issue and ‘m a fraction worried he might need this. If he doesn’t he’ll go very close.

18:00 Redcar - Lexi The One

She’s not rated to win a race like this but this might not be the strongest of races and she’s qualified for the £10,000 bonus and we thought we’d give it a go. Seven furlongs at Redcar will be absolutely ideal for her.
