Richard Fahey on his Saturday team at York, Chester, Sandown and Leicester

Runners at York, Chester, Sandown and Leicester for our star columnist on Saturday. Check out his unmissable horse-by-horse guide to them all.

13:50 York - Arctic Fox

We’re very happy with her and she’s progressing along the right lines now. She’s won her last two at Newmarket and here at York and we think going up to a mile-and-a-half might bring about further improvement. She should run very well again.

13:50 York - Sootability

She is what she is, a very genuine and honest filly who won at Thirsk at two. She has no weight on her back for all she’d lack the scope to progress of my other runner.

14:10 Chester - G For Gabrial

He’s definitely better than the form of his two races so far would suggest as he’s been very unlucky in both. Given a clear run this time it wouldn’t shock me to see him run very well.

14:10 Chester - Lexi The One

Marwan Koukash was keen to step her up to six furlongs here and I think it will suit. She ran better at Lingfield last time but I’d be surprised if she could beat the colts in this.

14:25 York - Aljady

This race has been the plan for him since he finished third on his return at the Dante Meeting. The recent rain and decent ground are plusses for this fellow and he heads there in great form. We couldn’t be happier with him.

14:25 York - Gabrial

Marwan was keen to come here and he ran his best race of the season so far when third at Chester last time. I’d be a little surprised if he could win over seven furlongs at York but he’s down in grade and we’ll see what happens. He’ll handle conditions too.

14:25 York - Great Prospector

I’m very keen to try him back at six furlongs but just can’t find the right race. His owner John Cotton is a big supporter of McMillan and this Charity Day and we’re happy to head here. He was second in a listed race at Redcar last season and would be dangerous if back in that form.

14:40 Chester - Gabrial The One

I’m a fraction worried about the ground for him as he was disappointing when the rain came at the May Meeting. He bounced back to win next time and if he handles conditions, he heads there in good form and full of confidence.

15:10 Chester - Queen Penn

She’ll love the ground and has been a fraction unlucky on her last couple of starts at Nottingham and Wolverhampton. It wouldn’t surprise me if she ran very well here with the extra half furlong in her favour.

15:15 Sandown - Zap

We’re trying him over a mile and his last few runs at York and Beverley have suggested he wants it. He’s a horse I like a lot and he wins in his turn. It will be interesting to see how he fares over the stiff mile.

15:35 York - Charming Kid

He has to bounce back after a very disappointing run here last time but the handicapper has given him a bit of a chance and he isn’t out of it on the pick of his earlier form.

15:35 York - Cosmic Law

The recent rain helps him – and any more would be very welcome. I thought he ran well when second at Chester on his first run back and while he doesn’t have loads in hand of the handicapper he is going well at home.

15:35 York - Nicki’s Angel

She didn’t stay seven furlongs on her Musselburgh reappearance and is still quite unexposed. She only has a featherweight on her back and would have a small chance if the drop back to sprinting works.

15:35 York - Ventura Ocean

We’ve kept him for this race since he won at Pontefract in April. I’m just a fraction worried it might be on the sharp side for him but the slower ground will help on that score and he is in very, very good form right now.

15:45 Chester - Coolagh Magic

I’m just starting to get disappointed with this horse but the drop back to a sharp five furlongs could suit and we’ll see how he goes.

16:05 York - International Lion

He ran very green on his debut here, eventually finishing fifth behind War Storm. His owner Phil Smith loves a runner at York and I hope this colt improves and runs well for him.

16:05 York - Sun Crystal

It’s going to be tough for her taking on the colts on debut but it’s a nice starting point and she’s ready to get racing.

16:20 Chester - Dark Devil

He’s slowly coming back into form and ran well when second at Beverley last time. I don’t know why he became so disappointing but he’s very well handicapped on his best form now and if he backs up the last run would have a big chance.

16:40 York - Furzig

I was disappointed with his last run at Musselburgh albeit it was a strange race and he might be better than that. The step up in trip here could help him get back on track.

16:55 Chester - Gabrial The Devil

He’ll love the ground. Marwan was keen to run all four of his in this and he’s one conditions will suit. He was very slowly away at Epsom last time.

16:55 Chester - Gabrial The Tiger

I’d imagine six furlongs around here would be sharp enough for him although he does have plenty of natural speed. Maybe the slow ground will stretch it out for him and he should be coming home at the finish.

16:55 Chester - Penwortham

He’s run okay over six furlongs a few times but I’d imagine – like Gabrial The Tiger – he’d prefer a bit further. If the ground does turn it into a race for seven furlong horses he’d have a chance as that’s what he is.

16:55 Chester - Powerallied

Of my quartet in this he’d be the one I’m sweetest on. He’s run well twice this season and is great form right now. I hope he runs well – and expect him too.

18:05 Leicester - Cameo Star

He needs to find his way again and this is not a great race so it might be an opportunity to do that. I think the trip will suit.

19:35 Leicester - Ivory Charm

This looks a very good opening for her. I think she’s sure to run a big race. She was impressive at Hamilton last time and will take a bit of beating.

20:35 Leicester - Primeiro Boy

He’s been very disappointing this year – just completely losing his way. He’s working fine but going to the races and showing nothing. He needs to shape up.
