Oli Bell rates Summerville Boy a good bet in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle - check out his latest Saturday Yankee.
Global Citizen (2.25 Newbury)
Ms Parfois (3.00 Newbury)
Bigmartre (3.35 Newbury)
Summerville Boy (2.05 Newcastle)
One of the best Fighting Fifth Hurdles in recent memory can go to the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle hero Summerville Boy.
He's a horse I've been keen on from around this time last year and he did incredibly well to win at Cheltenham in March given he didn't jump with anything like the sort of fluency you'd expect.
But it just shows he has gears like few others and with positive reports coming from the yard in regards to his technique ahead of the new season, he's backed to make a big splash in the Unibet Champion Hurdle market by defeating the reigning champ Buveur D'Air and Irish hype-machine Samcro.
Ms Parfois has the right sort of profile coming into the Ladbrokes Trophy and she looks pretty guaranteed to run her race. She lacks a recent run but will be fit enough to do herself justice and winning a prep run would only have seen her move up the weights for this.
She's given the nod over Elegant Escape who picks up a penalty for beating Thomas Patrick at Sandown.
Global Citizen can get the ball rolling in the Ladbrokes Intermediate Hurdle. He boxed on bravely for second on his seasonal bow at Ascot last month and should have more to offer this term with the outing under his belt.
He's proven on any ground, as is Bigmartre who also has a run under his belt this term and is only 2lb higher than when beaten a short head at Doncaster in January.
