Thundering Blue is among Oli Bell's best bets for Super Saturday - check out his full preview.
Oli's Saturday Yankee
Spring Loaded looks a sporting bet for the opener at Ascot on Saturday. Last year's Portland winner made a belated seasonal reappearance in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot and shaped well to finish ninth behind Bacchus having been short of room two furlongs out. He'll be sharper for that run and can go well at a decent price.
Quorto rates the best bet at Newmarket in the Superlative Stakes. Charlie Appleby's charge made an impressive winning debut here over six furlongs and is bred to relish the step up to seven. He's a very exciting prospect and showed a good turn of foot on his first start which will stand him in good stead here.
Dai Harraild returns to action in the John Smith's Silver Cup at York and can strike for William Haggas. He picked up a nice prize over course and distance last season and looks a cut above these rivals.
Finally go with Thundering Blue in the ultra-competitive John Smith's Cup. Fellow sportinglife columnist Fran Berry is in the saddle and the selection is easily excused his defeat at Royal Ascot last time over a trip that stretched him. Ten furlongs at York is absolutely ideal and he will run a big race.
