Aidan O'Brien quartet up for the Coronation Cup

Aidan O’Brien dominates the Investec Coronation Cup six-day entries with four of the 11 horses left in Friday’s Group One contest trained at Ballydoyle.

The Epsom highlight for older horses has moved back to the Friday from the Saturday programme and O’Brien trains the top two in the market, Highland Reel and Idaho, who are full brothers.

Johannes Vermeer and US Army Ranger complete the O’Brien quartet.

John Gosden’s Jack Hobbs won’t be lining up at Epsom as he prepares for Royal Ascot but his trainer looks set to be represented by Journey, a mare that won the Group One QIPCO British Champions Fillies’ & Mares’ Stakes at Ascot on Champions Day last October.

She’s the main market threat to the O’Brien team but Godolphin could pose a three-strong challenge after Frontiersman, a non-runner at York on Saturday, was supplemented for £25,000 to join Hawkbill and Prize Money as a potential runner.

Air Pilot, Red Verdon and Elbereth complete the 11 entries.
