Ed Vaughan's Magic J is likely to reappear in the Ladbrokes Burradon Stakes at Newcastle on Good Friday.
Vaughan had intended to run the once-raced Scat Daddy colt in the Greenham at Newbury on Saturday.
However, after declaring him, the trainer felt the ground would be unsuitable and Magic J will instead put his Classic credentials on the line in the £100,000 feature on the all weather.
"I just felt the ground was too tacky for him on Saturday," said Vaughan.
"We've put him in the Newcastle race and I think he'll go there, I just need to talk to the owners.
"We've made the entry and, as far as I can see, he'll probably run.
"It's a great addition to the calendar, that race, but with a lot of the top jockeys at Lingfield that day it just causes a little problem knowing who to get."
