Trader's Tip

Southwell 7:20– Polly’s Pursuit

This mares' novice hurdle looks potentially well above average for this time of year with two of the six runners having run at the Aintree Grand National Festival last month.

Having met in the Grade Two bumper at the Liverpool venue, Nicky Henderson’s Pollys Pursuit re-opposes the Peter Atkinson trained Irish Roe and it’s the champion trainer's mare who is today’s selection.

An easy winner of a bumper at Lingfield, the five-year-old travelled noticeably well when prominent in the Aintree race and was given an easy time of things when beaten by some potentially classy horses.

The selection is likely to have received plenty of practice at home and breeding suggests her bumper exploits were a bonus with the introduction of obstacles likely to benefit.
