This is pretty competitive for a Class 5 sprint. Rewaayat beat a subsequent winner at Lingfield so goes on the shortlist with what appears a favourable draw. Little Palaver sprang a surprise at Kempton while Fashionesque bids to follow up a victory at Windsor where she came from well off the pace. Soldier's Son found only one too good last time at Chepstow and My Style could improve for cheekpieces but the handicapper has given a chance to HANDYTALK and he is back over his best trip today.

Previous winners First Prophet and Fountain Cross set a decent standard in this. The former ran in the Chesham at Ascot after making a winning start at Newbury but the latter looks the more progressive. LOST IN SPACE began with a fourth at Yarmouth, where he wasn’t given a hard time. The Dark Angel colt, who is a half-brother to multiple winners, can reward that kindness here. Masqool is a half-brother to two winners so merits close inspection but Auriferous may be more of a long-term prospect.

MARIANCE had little chance in the Albany at Ascot but probably matched her debut effort at Lingfield. She was a long way in front of Cirrus at the Royal meeting and is one of the more likely winners of this. This looks a good starting point for Soft Whisper, who is by Dubawi out of a Sea The Stars mare, while fellow newcomer Prado, a half-sister to two winners, is also worth a market check along with Whiskey 'n' Chips, a half-sister to three winners.

A full brother to the three-times Group 1 winner Air Force Blue, it would be no surprise to see John Gosden’s AMERICAN ENTENTE make a winning start, though Tinker Toy is also by War Front and the first foal to race of a Group 1 winner. Fresh Snow is bred to need further while With Promise is now with William Knight and penalised having won a small race at Yarmouth last year. Ethics Approval never really threatened when third at Chepstow last month.

There is more experience on show in the second division of this novice stakes and BAASHIR is one who will have learned plenty from his second at Haydock when he finished ahead of a subsequent winner. Anjah has run well on Tapeta and Polytrack and now tries his luck on Turf but none of the others who have had a run make much appeal. Desert Destination looks a threat to all as he’s a half-brother to three winners including Godolphin’s top-class sprinter Blue Point.

Monsieur Lambrays may well have beaten Christopher Wood at Pontefract had he steered a straight course in the closing stages. He’s now fitted with a visor and holds the disappointing Ballylemon on that run so has every chance of going one better but it’s also about time HIGH COMMISSIONER (NAP) was getting his head in front. Despite failing to win last season, Josh Bryan’s mount showed useful form and he wasn’t beaten far on his reappearance at Kempton last month. Mouriyani has already won three times this year, including on Turf last month, and Dono di Dio is back on a winning mark so can’t be ignored.

As a five-year-old, Escape The City is a lot more exposed than her rivals but she can’t be left out of calculations in a very open-looking handicap. Heart Reef has a bit prove now, however, while Arriviste lacks a recent run. Queen Of The Sea is tried in cheekpieces but Punting is the only one of the three-year-olds to have won over this trip. Woodhouse was well backed on her reappearance at Doncaster and the extra yardage here should be in her favour so she’s preferred to Thanielle but AWARD SCHEME may have her measure. The Queen’s filly doesn’t look an easy ride but she has been showing promise nonetheless and is another who should appreciate the longer distance.

BY JOVE overcame trouble in-running to score at Windsor and was probably value for a bit more than the winning margin. That was a big step forward on last year’s efforts and Michael Bell’s gelding can overcome a 5lb rise. Bad Attitude was showing progressive form in the spring, winning at Chelmsford in March, but didn’t impress on Turf last year. Rare Glam placed at Chelmsford and Leicester last month and Beat The Breeze is a consistent sort on Polytrack, though now 0-10.

A very tricky finale featuring several in-form runners. Broad Appeal was progressive last year and improved again to make a winning reappearance at Windsor. Golden Wolf is still well treated despite a 4lb rise for scoring at Newmarket but Peace Prevails has gone up 6lb for winning at HQ. Rudy Lewis was successful at Wolverhampton last month but has yet to prove as effective on Turf. With the retirement of Peter Hedger, C’EST NO MOUR is now in the care of Simon Hodgson. The seven-year-old is now a pound lower than when winning at Epsom last August and he made a satisfactory return at Windsor. Uther Pendragon got back to winning ways at Bath but he’s best over 1m2f.
