This isn’t much tougher than the seller that Cheap Jack won at Ripon but he’s been raised 6lb. Spantik was still beaten a long way when runner-up over track and trip but Act Of Magic went close over today’s trip at Bath between moderate efforts over a mile. Dragons Will Rise won over the latter trip here back in March and DESPOINA also steps back up in distance having placed at Musselburgh on only her second start handicapping. She should figure again with plenty of scope for further progress so gets the vote.

BAWAADER finally got his head in front at Musselburgh last time but was demoted for interference and placed second. He can gain compensation in this given the weakness of today’s opposition. Point Of Honour has been in good form until struggling when favourite at Thirsk last time while Violette Szabo was placed over track and trip recently without threatening the winner. Theheartneverlies may do better on his second outing after wind surgery and Sun Crystal represents last year’s winning yard.

PIED PIPER posted a better effort when finishing runner-up over a mile at Haydock last time. His dam won over today’s longer trip so John Gosden’s colt looks the one to beat. The Bravest also steps up in trip having placed at Ripon on his debut but Fandabidozi failed to finish any closer over 7f here on his latest start. Silver Gunn is related to several decent winners in Italy and is a newcomer to note.

Rated 86 having finished third to a subsequent Group 3 winner at Sandown, THIRD KINGDOM should be opening his account and will likely prove a warm order. Midnight Poppy showed a big improvement when second at Musselburgh recently and can figure while Uproar and Solar Joe look likely improvers. The latter’s stablemate Baileys Afterparty is related to a host of winners and makes most appeal of the newcomers.

None of these have managed a place so far but Dutch Light will likely improve for this extra furlong and Cammy debuted in a tougher maiden race at Doncaster and is preferred to Onaiza. Million Reasons may do better over this shorter trip but a chance is taken on RIVER CHORUS. The latter is the first foal of a winner on the all-weather in France and any support in the betting could prove significant as James Tate sent out a newcomer and winning favourite in last year’s renewal.

Ballyare finished runner-up when last seen over track and trip and has gone close on Turf subsequently. Slowmo placed over the minimum trip at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago while Arnold is usually thereabouts here but has yet to score on the all-weather. Arcavallo finally showed some improvement for a slide down the weights when beaten a length at Hamilton but LORD OF THE GLEN (NAP) went close again here just three days ago having won over track and trip before that and looks worth sticking with in his current form.

Najib has been threatening to open his account and finished in front of previous winner Rosemay when a close-up fourth at Hamilton. Herbert Pocket posted his best effort in a handicap so far at Ayr last time while Susie Javea finished runner-up at Southwell. Come On Linda wasn’t beaten that far when fifth over track and trip last week but REBEL STATE was placed at the same fixture and it could be the turn of Jedd O’Keeffe’s charge again.

MUATADEL returned from a short break with a third over track and trip three days ago. He finished in front of New Look and is taken to confirm running. Deolali placed at the same fixture here with Great Colaci just behind and that pair also have claims while Chocoholic went close at Catterick on his penultimate start. Billyoakes won at Wolverhampton at the start of the year but hasn’t raced since February and 6f winner Melgate Magic has something to prove over today’s trip.

ZEBULON ended a long losing run with a course and distance victory. He’s raised 5lb but has won off higher marks in the past. Lucky Beggar was narrowly beaten over the minimum trip here three days ago while Ingleby Molly finished runner-up at Redcar when last in action but that was just over a year ago. Fard’s only win on the all-weather so far came over track and trip last year while God Of Dreams has yet to win anywhere and debuts on this surface.
