London Icon set for Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown

Trainer Adrian Keatley is looking forward to testing London Icon at Pattern level in the Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The Elzaam colt was a highly promising third on his racecourse debut at the Curragh in August and the form has since been well advertised.

London Icon opened his account in impressive style at Naas earlier this month under Pat Smullen and will step up to Group Three level this weekend.

Keatley said: "He did his last piece of work on Tuesday morning and it's all systems go for Sunday. Pat (Smullen) was delighted with him.

"We feel he's improved and he knows his job now. His form is very good and he's definitely entitled to run in a Group Three at this stage.

"The ground will be on the easy side and he handled it in Naas. The ground never gets too bad in Leopardstown, so hopefully he'll be fine."

London Icon is one of 15 entries for the seven-furlong contest.

Aidan O'Brien has seven contenders include Bye Bye Baby, Dramatically and Family Tree.

Other possibles include Dermot Weld's pair of Chiara Luna and Imaging and the Ger Lyons-trained Mcmunigal.
