Our racing team are blogging all week with Goodwood the focus and you can replay day one here as Stradivarius stole the show in the Goodwood Cup.
All times BST, please refresh for updates
1700: π₯ Believe In Love lands the finale
BELIEVE IN LOVE for Roger Varian in the last and she does that nicely on the rail under Andrea Atzeni at 11/1, with Asiaaf second and Dancing Approach third.
1625: π₯ Timely boost for Tregoning
ALKUMAIT lands the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes for Marcus Tregoning, a nice winner for the yard ahead of Mohaather's day of destiny in the Sussex Stakes tomorrow.
1555: π₯ Only Spoofing edges it
ONLY SPOOFING edges Acclaim The Nation in a thriller at Goodwood to land the spoils for Jedd O'Keefe and Kieran O'Neill. A nice 14/1 winner if you found that one.
1535: π½ Worth watching again. And again. And again...
π Stradivarius cements his status as an all-time great by giving weight away and overcoming serious trouble to win his fourth Goodwood Cup

1525:π Stradivarius simply sublime
Stradivarius wins a fourth Goodwood Cup in typically I'm The Daddy style. For a moment he looked like he might be vulnerable as he was a little boxed in towards the business end, but Frankie Dettori was cool as ice and once he extricated himself into space Stradivarius zipped clear to win cosily from Nayef Road, with Santiago, keen in the early stages but a smooth traveller, only third.
What a fantastic horse. A winning machine. Awesome staying power. Classy. John Gosden playing a blinder, again. A spectacular CV. Four Goodwood Cups - incredible.
1520: ππππ FOUR GOODWOOD CUPS!
Simply beautiful to watch. More to follow.
1510: π The big one
Here we go, the Goodwood Cup up next. Stradivarius, going for a fourth win in the race. "His biggest test," says trainer John Gosden.
Santiago is the reason why. The three-year-old gets 15lb. That's a lot of weight to give to a Classic winner and, if this race was run four days later, in August, that WFA would be 13lb. Could it be crucial?
We'll find out shortly...
1459: π’ Campaign for more 7f G1s
There should be more seven-furlong Group Ones shouldn't there? At least one more.
Right at the end of the year, at Newcastle, under floodlights.
1454: π₯ Space in a different world
SPACE BLUES is a very convincing winner of the Lennox Stakes after a third successive win for the son of Dubawi.
He looks your archetypal seven furlong specialist and you know what that means... all roads must lead to the Prix de la Foret, the only Group One over seven furlongs in Europe (for older horses).
Duke Of Hazzard runs a good race in second and Escobar gets the each-way money in third for MB's VB. He travelled well and was slightly hampered by the winner, so might've got second with a clear run.
But the winner was in a different gear.
1444: Race 4οΈβ£ - The Annie Lennox π€
It looks a cracking renewal of the Group 2 Qatar Lennox Stakes next, with a lovely mix of horses stepping up in trip, down in trip and staying at seven furlongs.
Sir Dancealot loves this race, is going for his third win in the contest and he ran a lovely prep in the July Cup last time out.
This might be tougher than previous renewals, though, with Space Blues the one to beat after a couple of convincing wins thus far this campaign.
Safe Voyage is very good and consistent but is arguably better on softer conditions, while Pierre Lapin is very lightly-raced and his participation is eyebrow-raising.
Brocklebank is on interesting outsider Escobar, while another in that category is the Zoffany colt, Graignes, for George Baker, a horse that had very good form in France last season.
1439: π€ Battle into 8/1 for Guineas
Sky Bet go 8/1 from 12s Battleground for the 2000 Guineas after his Vintage win and he does look like he's got plenty of pace, doesn't he?
That's not too surprising as he's by War Front, a sire that has produced a July Cup winner in U S Navy Flag for Ballydoyle, but being out of Found you do wonder if he'll be better over middle distances as a three-year-old.
Galileo Gold won the Vintage in 2015 and went onto win the Guineas, so it does make you wonder, have we seen a Classic winner there? He's your antepost favourite at this early stage.
1430: πΈ Fo-do!
1425: π₯ O'Brien joins the Battle
He does it nicely, Battleground. Ryan Moore quickly covers the move as Devious Company hits the front just over a furlong out and Battleground just keeps on finding to win by what looks a couple of lengths.
Devious Company, the second favourite, is second, and Youth Spirit, the third favourite, is third. In this season of all season's, you're a bit unsure as to the validity of sporadic two-year-old form but the market got that one right.
Gorytus, at a big price, runs well for Richard Fahey in fourth. He was pushed along early, was crowded in the centre of the pack in the home straight and looked like he might fall away, but he stuck to his guns nicely for fourth.
1410: Race 3οΈβ£ - Vintage Spirit?
It's the Group 2 Vintage Stakes next and an intriguing renewal. Chesham winner Battleground is your favourite but Devious Company is arguably your form pick and he's 4/1.
A win for Tom Dascombe's horse would be a boost for Master Of The Seas on their Superlative run, while a winner from the Newmarket July Festival, Youth Spirit, is also amongst the fancied horses here.
1355: π₯ Johnston at it again
MAYDANNY absolutely bolts up for Mark Johnston. He's a trainer that doesn't have a bad record at Glorious Goodwood, did you know? He's trained the one-two for good measure with Sky Defender second.
Before the furlong pole these two were first and second and it stayed the same for the next mile and one. Always trying? Keeping it simples more like.

1344: Slight delay
Restorer is being reshod so a likely little delay at Goodwood. Still time to get your exotics on. This race just screams combo-trifecta doesn't it?! Perhaps, for the masochists.
1340: π Bad gags
Will Yuri Gagarin get enough SPACE in this? Will Lawn Ranger get the rub of the GREEN? Will Red October be in the HUNT?
I'll stop now. They're down at the start.
1335: Race 2οΈβ£ - 1.45
Okay, decent betting race coming up now with the 10-furlong Unibet You're On Handicap.
Matt Brocklebank is very keen on Fifth Position in Value Bet and you can see why as he looks a horse that still has plenty more to give.
He's halved in price and is now disputing favouritism at around 5/1 with fellow John Smith's Cup horse Tinandali and Bell Rock who ran well at Royal Ascot on the back of Newmarket victory.
It's a belting race and I've had a few quid each-way on You're Hired who is a massive 40/1.
He bolted up at Newmarket two starts ago and ran creditably off his new mark at Epsom last time, so it's a sign of how competitive this race is that he's a big price here.
However, I like his Goodwood record, I like that he's a pace angle and I like that first-time visor (ran well in first-time cheekpieces when second at this meeting last year).
1322: π² Ord tips winner
Out of the Placepot already. Had Wasaayef double-pronged with Vividly. Not for the first time I'm left wondering 'Why didn't I listen to Dave Ord?'
All of our best bets for today are here.
1314: π₯ Dream start for Haggas
'Tomorrow's Dream is today's winner' says Ian Bartlett in commentary and he had a good few seconds to think of that line as William Haggas' filly had this in the bag from some way out.
Vividly set the pace with Angel Power sitting just off her, but the leader wilted inside the final furlong (hope she's okay - we'll keep you posted) the white-faced Tomorrow's Dream stormed to the front at the furlong pole and the race was over from then on.
The daughter of Oasis Dream was arguably unlucky at Newbury last time out but she's made amends here under Tom Marquand.

β Sporting Life (@SportingLife) July 28, 2020
1305: A few technical problems on Racing TV meant a very faint Roger Varian was discussing Angel Power with Tom Stanley.
I think he said: "She hasn't had much racing but she's a nice filly, she's still progressing. She's probably a filly that will get 10 furlongs at some stage."
1303: Race 1οΈβ£ - 1.10
Placepot done, lunch done, time for the action. The British European Breeders Fund EBF Fillies' Handicap kicks off the afternoon's sport and Angel Power is your favourite for Roger Varian. A neck second at Haydock last time, she's up 5lb but clearly enters calculations.
The one that went into the Placepot, though, was Vividly (7/1) for Charlie Hills. A Charm Spirit filly she won her maiden at Goodwood at this meeting last year and shaped quite nicely on her seasonal reappearance at Ascot.
I'm hoping she comes on for that and gets in the places under William Buick.
1240: π‘ Housekeeping
I'm pleased to announce there are no non-runners at Goodwood today. This is good news. Enjoy a nice simple 10 minutes constructing your Placepot without having to consult the NRs page.
As for the ground, it's Good, Good to Soft in places with a GoingStick reading of 6.8 this morning. The weather is looking dry, both for today and the rest of the week.
The rail movements are as follows:
13:10 +6 yards (approx)
13:45 +6 yards (approx)
14:15 +6 yards (approx)
14:45 +6 yards (approx)
15:15 +10 yards (approx)
16:55 +6 yards (approx)
There you go. We're all up to date and we're half an hour away from race one. Right, now for that Placepot...
1215: WATCH π½: Goodwood briefing video
First up multimedia, as words are just too complicated these days aren't they? Aren't they? So I'm led to believe. If you want to watch a man on the edge desperately hanging on for the schools to reopen then watch the below video. I do detail the only bet I've had today which is a 33/1 chance in the 1.45.
1155: π Hello
It's cruel, isn't it, putting on Goodwood and Galway the same week. Two of the trickiest tracks in racing, with more hard-luck stories than an old drunk propping up a bar.
On the Tuesday of Goodwood, though, there's a sense of optimism. We can crack it this year. It'll be different, of course, with no crowds, no picnics atop Trundle Hill (supposedly), but the same old trouble in-running will occur. Of course it will. It's all part of the fun.
The one race where you wouldn't expect any bad-beat stories is the Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup, today's Group One feature at 3.15 (racecard and free video form here).
It would be a coronation for Stradivarius, the Goodwood Cup king, a horse going for a record fourth win in the race, were it not for Aidan O'Brien.
O'Brien has saved the race with the entry of Santiago, the young upstart, the Irish Derby and Queen's Vase winner who might, just might, dethrone the king thanks to a rather handy 15lb weight for age allowance.
