Kameko is set to stick to a mile and run in the Prix Jacques Le Marois at Deauville on Sunday week.
The QIPCO 2000 Guineas winner never saw daylight when fourth behind Mohaather in the Qatar Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and connections had been pondering stepping up to ten furlongs in the Juddmonte International at York.
However trainer Andrew Balding told ITV Racing: "Oisin (Murphy) came in and had a sit on him on this morning. He's come out of Goodwood really well and the plan at the moment is probably to go for the Prix Jacques Le Marois.
"It might change if they get a lot of rain and the ground was very soft - then the Juddmonte International could come into it."
