Jamie Maynard: Free horse racing betting tips for Wednesday October 18

Last Updated October 18 2017, 17:08Racing

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout October, Jamie Maynard will provide his three best bets.

NAP - SWENDAB (6.15 Kempton)

The experienced horse in the race at the age of nine, John O’Shea's gelding has been a great servant to his handler and will be looking to add to his 13 career wins. All of his all-weather victories have been at this track and he's back down to a mark of 55 off which he won here in May. His latest few efforts have been encouraging, especially when beaten a neck the last day at Chelmsford. Another big run expected with David Egan taking off a valuable 3lb. (Best price 100/30)

NEXT BEST - JONNYSIMPSON (5.45 Kempton)

His last two outings have been in nursery company over the minimum trip and have both been solid efforts in defeat. Remains on the same mark for the latest second and the booking of Silvestre De Sousa is worth noting as he has done the steering when third on the horse's only all-weather start where six furlongs looked to stretch him. (Best price 11/4)

TREBLE - CORNBOROUGH (5.25 Wetherby)

Has previously shown good form over this trip, most notably when landing a double in the spring of last year, the second of those was from a 2lb lower mark. He’s been keeping up his fitness over the summer on the level and has managed to land a couple of handicaps in the meantime. He’s been dropped to a mark of 128 – the same rating as he ran off when a close third on his only visit to this course. Could run a big race at generous odds. (Best price 12/1)
