Lightening Quick is likely to have her first start for Johnny Murtagh in Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh on May 27.

By Frankel out of Group One winner Lightening Pearl, she began life trained, like the latter, by Ger Lyons.

Having won a maiden on Irish Champions Weekend she disappointed on her only other start at two, but reappeared to win a Group Three at Naas in May.

She has since left Lyons to join Murtagh, who rode Lightening Pearl to Cheveley Park glory.

"Sheikh Fahad (al Thani, owner) needs to talk to Johnny. Obviously Ger has done a fantastic job up this point in her career," Sheikh Fahad's racing manager David Redvers told At The Races. "It's up to Sheikh Fahad and Johnny whether she now goes for the Guineas, but I suspect there is a strong likelihood that that will be the case."

Lightening Quick is 12/1 for the Curragh Classic with Sky Bet.
