Joseph O’Brien is set to run his Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby winner Latrobe in the Juddmonte International at York next week.
He also holds an engagement in the Sky Bet Great Voltigeur but the trainer said: “We are leaning slightly more towards the Juddmonte International. The ten furlongs trip is a bit of an unknown and his best form is over 12 but we’ll head over there and give it our best. He’s a good horse and nothing ventured, nothing gained. “
Latrobe had Saxon Warrior, trained by O’Brien’s father Aidan, back in third at the Curragh and the pair will clash again at York.
“Saxon Warrior will be very hard to beat but unfortunately he’s not the only danger. There are a number of other high class horses but if you’re not in you can’t win,” the trainer added.
Latrobe is currently a 20/1 chance with Sky Bet for the Juddmonte International.
