Liam Treadwell must spend time on the sidelines after he sustained a broken left shoulder at Cheltenham on Saturday.
The Grand National-winning rider suffered the injury when Lady Karina, trained by Venetia Williams, fell at the sixth flight of a mares' handicap hurdle.
Treadwell said: "I've broken my left shoulder, but I'm not sure about the absolute details of it.
"I'm going to see a specialist early next week to see if it needs operating on.
"It's a bit of a kick in the stomach as I've not had the cleanest of runs over the last 18 months.
"I'm walking wounded and the timing is not ideal, but it could have been worse."
