Raheem House looks to bounce back at Ascot

Raheen House will bid to bounce back from his disappointing effort in the St Leger in the LondonMetric Noel Murless Stakes at Ascot on Friday.

Brian Meehan's colt emerged as a serious contender for the season's final Classic after building on three promising placed efforts with victory in the Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket in July.

Meehan decided to keep his powder dry for last month's Doncaster assignment, but Raheen House could only finish seventh of 11 runners.

"He came out of the St Leger well and is in good form. This looks a nice race for him and I am confident of a good run. Jame Spencer rides," the trainer said on his website www.brianmeehan.com.

Raheen House must concede weight to each of his five rivals in the one-mile-six-furlong Listed contest.

Ralph Beckett saddles Mount Moriah, who was last seen finishing third in the Irish St Leger.

Beckett said: "He ran very well in Ireland and we've been happy with him since.

"He's a course and distance winner, so we know the track is no problem and the ground should suit him. I'm hoping he'll run a very good race."

The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe-winning connections of trainer John Gosden, jockey Frankie Dettori and owner Khalid Abdullah are represented by the progressive Weekender.

Gosden has a second string in Zenon, the mount of Ryan Moore.

Mark Johnston's Hochfeld (PJ McDonald) and the Eve Johnson Houghton-trained On To Victory (Tom Marquand) complete the line-up.
