Nicky Henderson may run two in Punchestown Champion

My Tent Or Yours and Brain Power could represent Nicky Henderson in the Betdaq Punchestown Champion Hurdle on April 28.

The admirable My Tent Or Yours was runner-up in the Champion Hurdle for the third time at Cheltenham last month and was also second in the Aintree Hurdle last Thursday.

Henderson has also left in Champion Hurdle and Aintree Hurdle hero Buveur D'Air, but he is set for a summer break.

The Seven Barrows handler said: "It's definitely the plan to take Brain Power to Punchestown, we've aimed him there.

"Michael (Buckley, owner) has been away and wanted to wait for Punchestown so we have decided to do that.

"I have to say Brain Power was disappointing at Cheltenham and we hope for a better show at Punchestown.

"We could easily take My Tent Or Yours there as well. You have to admire him with the way he ran at Aintree after his good run at Cheltenham."

Mullins has claimed this prize in six of the last seven years and his eight-strong entry includes Annie Power, Arctic Fire and last year's winner Vroum Vroum Mag.

Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Labaik could step into open company for Gordon Elliott, who has also entered Mares' Hurdle heroine Apple's Jade and Tombstone.

Henry de Bromhead's pair of Identity Thief and Petit Mouchoir are also part of a 17-strong field.

Cheltenham heroes Special Tiara and Un De Sceaux are the headline acts amongst 17 entries for the BoyleSports Champion Chase on the opening day of the Festival on April 25.

The De Bromhead-trained Special Tiara profited from Douvan's demise to claim Queen Mother Champion Chase glory.

Connections have, however, stated that the Celebration Chase at Sandown is his preferred target at this stage.

The Mullins-trained Un De Sceaux produced one of the most visually impressive performances of the Cheltenham Festival with a dominant display in the Ryanair Chase and looks a likely candidate to return to two miles, with stablemate Douvan sidelined by injury.

Rock The World could be stepped up in grade by Jessica Harrington after winning the Grand Annual.

Fox Norton would be a major contender if sent from Britain by Colin Tizzard.

The seven-year-old was beaten just a head by Special Tiara at Cheltenham before bolting up in the Melling Chase at Aintree last week.

Last year's winner God's Own, trained by Tom George, is another possible British challenger.

Annie Power holds entries in the Champion Hurdle and the Stayers Hurdle, but after having been sidelined by injury since winning the Aintree Hurdle a year ago, perhaps her most likely target is the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Champion Hurdle on the Saturday of the Festival (April 29).

The nine-year-old claimed successive renewals of this Grade One prize in 2014-15 and trainer Mullins has won five of the last seven.

Mullins is responsible for eight of the 15 entries, with Cheltenham heroine Let's Dance, Vroum Vroum Mag and last year's winner Whiteout also in contention.

Apple's Jade is joined by stablemates Barra, Dinaria Des Obeaux and Shattered Love.

Phil Kirby's Lady Buttons is the only British-trained entry.

The first Grade One event of the week is the Herald Champion Novice Hurdle on April 25.

Supreme Novices' Hurdle one-two Labaik and the Mullins-trained Melon head 25 possible runners.

Mullins' army also includes Bacardys, Bunk Off Early and Let's Dance.

The other two top-level novice hurdles are the Irish Daily Mirror Novice Hurdle over three miles (April 26) and the two-and-a-half-mile Tattersalls Ireland Novice Champion Hurdle (April 28).

The former has attracted 37 contenders, including Albert Bartlett one-two Penhill and Monalee, Augusta Kate and Death Duty.

There are 51 entries for the two-and-a-half-miler, in which several horses are entered elsewhere at Punchestown.

Possible contenders include last week's runaway Aintree scorer Finian's Oscar, Bacardys and Kemboy.

Acapella Bourgeois, Bellshill, Our Duke and Yorkhill are part of a 24-strong entry for the Growise Champion Novice Chase over three miles and a furlong (April 26).

The Mullins-trained Yorkhill is also among those who have the option of dropping to two miles in the Ryanair Novice Chase (April 27).

Mullins could also call upon Great Field and the prolific mare Listen Dear, while Paul Nicholls has entered Politologue and San Benedeto.

The Philip Hobbs-trained Defi Du Seuil, who followed up his Triumph Hurdle success with victory at Aintree last week, takes top billing in the AES Champion 4YO Hurdle (April 29).

Should be bid to complete the Festival hat-trick, his potential opponents include Triumph second and third, Mega Fortune and Bapaume, in a race that has lured 17 entries.
